These were tasty and my husband & daughter really liked them...however, as written this is a 4 star in my book due to the ginger. The ginger amount really needs to be decreased unless you love ginger. As written, the ginger overpowers. Next time, I will decrease the ginger. With this change they should be perfect.

Wow! This was good! I doubled the ingredients for 5 chops. I didn't have soy sauce, so I substituted teriyaki in it's place. Followed the rest of the recipe as stated. Although, I forgot to reserve part of the marinade before putting in the chops, so I just boiled it for 5 minutes before basting the chops on the grill. I let the chops marinate for 8 hours before grilling. These were awsome! BTW... the USDA just revised their recommendations for cooked pork temps. They now recommend cooking pork to an internal temp of 145 degrees, and then letting rest for 3 minutes.

Results were great (even though I didn't have enough Worchestershire sauce as I did 7 times the recipe)! Everyone loved it. I did stir-fry vegetables as one of my side dishes and found that the sauce is actually a great stir-fry sauce!!! Next time I make a stir-fry of any kind I will use this sauce!
06/14/2011
This was absolutely fabulous!! I doubled the recipe ingredients and used baby back ribs. I marinated them in half the sauce (as mentioned) and then baked/basted them in the oven at 350. Wow - they were finger licking good! Thanks for a Keeper recipe!
08/15/2012
AWESOME! My picky eaters gobbled it up! The child who puts ketchup on everything by-passed the ketchup for the sauce! The meat was tender and juicy. I finally found a recipe for pork that makes the whole family happy. I would like it to be slightly sweeter and little thicker....I will try with personal modifications next time. But overall VERY GOOD! And EASY :)

I have made this before, but apparently didn't review it at the time. I made it again, this time using pork tenderloin instead of chops. I made the marinade, but opted to skip the ginger and cinnamon, just as a personal preference. As instructed I marinated the pork in half the marinade. But before grilling I decided to thicken the reserved marinade to give it some body for basting. I simmered it for the 5 minutes as indicated in step 4, but it wasn't thickening for me, so I added a little cornstarch/water slurry to thicken it, just enough to coat the back of a spoon. That gave it much better cling for basting and allowed me to do it ahead of time.

Let's get the hard part over first. The reduced sauce was too sweet and the cinnamon is too dominant. And that's AFTER I already cut it back to 1/8 of tsp. However, the pork was delicious and with a little reworking on the sauce, that would be delicious too. It almost tastes like an upscale, really interesting A1 Sauce. Just skip either the sugar or the honey and use only a sprinkle of cinnamon. I'm hanging on to this one! Thanks! :o)
06/06/2011
This was AWESOME!! My husband usually does not care for pork chops but states this is the best marinade ever!! States would be good on steak and shrimp too!! States this tastes like it was prepared in an expensive restaurant!!
08/26/2011
These were absolutely delicious. I marinated for close to 5 hours, and they were very flavorful. The glaze was a very nice touch, too, and gave my guests the ability to control how strong of a flavor they wanted. I must admit, I thought twice before adding the cinnamon (I generally do not care for sweet in savory food), but I went with it, and I thought it added a really nice dimension. YUM!
05/29/2012
Holy WOW was this good!! I didn't have cinnamon, but I don't know if it mattered. I made the kabobs, and I'm already thinking up other ways to use the marinade. I highly recommend this! Okay, I have used this recipe so many times now! I make something with it once a week, we like it that much! This past week, I made some burgers on the grill, and I put some of the thickened sauces on each side of the burgers. These were the most juiciest and flavorful burgers I have ever made! I have used this with all different meats, and now I make sure I have all the ingredients on hand at all times. I call it "Liquid Gold" now! I have used it for cookouts, and had nothing but rave reviews also. We just love it, and thank you so much for sharing it!
04/10/2012
This is fabulous. I make these chops several times a month. They have been a hit with family and guests alike. I grill pineapple slices to serve alongside these tasty chops.
09/07/2011
One word: YUM this was a great marinade, the chops were moist and delicious. The cinnamon was an interesting tastable twist.
08/26/2011
4.5 Stars: I cut a 2.5 lb pork loin roast into slices and marinated for 2 days. It was very good, but be careful with the cinnamon. We all agreed a touch more cinnamon would have ruined it.
10/07/2011
These chops were very tender, but I thought that the marinade gave them a terrible flavor. It must have been the seasonings that I did not like as the liquid ingredients are quite common in most marinades that I like very much. Sorry. Won't be making this again.
08/28/2011
I followed the recipe & it was absolutely perfect. Wouldn't change a thing, very easy & good!!
06/23/2011
These were a surprise, wasn't sure about the cinnamon? Marinated over 24 hrs and they were very good. I had some left over though and decided to make a sandwich, I did not care for that. The flavors did not go well they next day. Even my picky husband liked this one!
07/18/2011
This was awesome, i made 6 chops and served with rice pilaf cooked with spinach. I marinated some steak tips and fresh vegetables in it and grilled kabobs. Perfect
06/23/2011
I've always been afraid to put chops on the grill because I thought they would dry out. I made these and followed recipe as printed and they came out fantastic! The only thing I didn't do was reduce the basting marinade after but used it as is for dipping and loved it. Will do these again and again!
04/25/2012
Great!! The marinade was the best I've ever made. Thanks. I followed the recipe exactly.
07/25/2013
I tried this recipe last night for my husband and I and we loved it. Only used half of the ginger and used a little more honey and brown sugar. I put them under the broiler at first on low for the first 15 minutes and then changed up on hi and put them about in the middle of the oven since we do not own a grill at this time. This was the best pork we have ever had. GOOD STUFF !!
07/14/2011
Made this as written and we really liked it!! Very easy and I always have the ingredients! Thanks for sharing!
07/26/2011
This was a good marinade but got mixed reviews at our house.
07/25/2011
This recipe is GREAT! My family loved it! I just used less ginger (1/4 teaspoon) I highly recommend it best tasting pork chops ever!
09/19/2011
Delicious! I marinated it over night. and I ran out of Worcestershire sauce so I just made up the difference with Soy sauce. I doubled it for 6 pieces of pork and still had enough leftover for the sauce.
07/29/2011
My family loved the sweetness of this recipe. I marinated in all of the sauce and then cooked up all the sauce on the stove.
07/16/2011
This is the best recipe for Grilled Chops that I have ever tried. Wow! They are so moist and so full of flavor. I marinated mine for about 4 hours. I can't imagine what they would taste like if they marinated overnight. Amazing! This is a keeper.
06/20/2011
i havent even cook the pork chops yet but this sauce is sooo good! i was leary about the ginger and cinamon so i only did a little dash of each. and i also didnt have soy sauce on hand so i used toshidos teriyaki. it is VERY sweet. but awesome! i tripled the receipe so we could have a lot of sauce for basting and over the top when done. i will def be making this more often!
03/22/2012
This is a great easy recipe. The only thing I wanted to mention is that as a professional chef i feel it my duty to let you know that it is considered safe by the fda to cook pork to an internal temperature of only 145 degrees, this guarantees the meat is cooked enough to kill any bad guys and also allows for a much juicier medium cooked meat.
07/04/2011
These were Excellent. My husband was mad I didn't make more. Next time I'll double for leftovers.
11/09/2011
Amazing! And I took the suggestion of boiling the marinade from the bag and while it was heating up on the stove my husband kept coming in to see what smelled soooo good! Loved it! (used slightly less ginger)
09/14/2011
This is a wonderful marinade to put on porl loin. It has a sweet tast and a hint of spicy. I would make this if I was going to have people over for dinner. It is best cooked on grill. over all it has a wonderful mixture of things that make this so wonderful!!!
08/21/2011
Very tender. Nice flavour
07/07/2011
Wonderful recipe! I marinated overnight and grilled today the family gobbled it up with roasted new potatoes out of the garden. You just can't go wrong! I will make again and again...
06/27/2011
Great marinade I have used it also on chicken but I think it is by far better on the pork. The ingredients are readily available and i usually have it on hand. I've done it without ketchup and cinnamon still good just different. I'm not a huge fan of ginger but I do think it is a good addition here.
08/21/2011
This recipe beats any store boughten recipe out there! Absolutely fabulous! I would rate it a 10+
09/03/2012
This is a fabulous marinade. We marinaded a pork loin for 5 hours and then grilled. YUMMY!
11/12/2011
This marinade was really good; I didn't change a thing. I did marinate over night as suggested, and we made them on the grill. Thanks for a great recipe!
01/02/2012
AMAZING!! My family LOVED this recipe!!
02/18/2012
Awesome! This marinade is so tasty and super simple to make. I will definitly be keeping this recipe on hand, thanks!!!
09/14/2012
This marinade is easy to whip up with ingredients that you probably have on hand in your pantry & fridge. The blend of seasoning is just right - not too gingery as some people have commented. I accidentally underestimated how much I'd need for the package of loin chops I'd bought so didn't have enough to make a sauce to serve with, but even having done double-duty as marinade and basting sauce was sufficient to impart a great taste. Next time I'll try this with chicken.
03/21/2012
In a word...RIDICULOUS! I added a hint of ground cumin and served with an orange marmelade dipping sauce. WHOA!
06/19/2011
Not bad, not great. Not that crazy about the "spice" taste. I like the concept and will try it again without the ginger and the cinnamon.
08/31/2014
Worked very well & was delicious! No changes made! Thank you for sharing!
05/21/2012
Very nice. I didn't baste or reserve sauce, but it still was very flavorful pork. I didn't reserve any bc I had 5 pork chops and just wanted all of it to be marinated really well. I let it marinate for over 24 hours, and it turned out very nice. Thanks for the recipe!
04/12/2012
I made these pork chops last night. My family loved them! My 5 yr old son said before bed, "Can we eat that pork again tomorrow." I will be making it again.
03/06/2014
Absolutely loved this! I doubled the recipe, halved the ginger, baked them instead of grill and they're amazing!
10/31/2011
I thought these were very good but you definitely need to grill them. I don't think the spices would work without the flavor that grilling it give them.
04/27/2016
EXCELLENT!! went exactly by the recipe, although i did add a douse of red wine to the mixture (was drinking at the time) and I cooked them on a hot plate on my range! everyone loved them!
03/27/2014
These were perfect! I was looking for something different to do with pork chops and found this recipe. It was a bit too cold to grill outdoors, so I seared them in a cast iron skillet, finished them in the broiler while brushing several layers of the glaze on each side until I got a deep rich color. Flavor is out of this world. This recipe is a keeper!
07/05/2014
The best pork chops ever! I used a low sodium soy but ended up adding Kosher salt, I also used 1/4 tsp of cumin and 1/2 tsp of liquid hickory smoke. I grilled the boneless sirloin chops over a mixture of lump charcoal and soaked hickory chunks at high heat (500 degrees +). The chops were succulent, like smoked ribs with no bones! I cut my chops off of a sirloin roast. They were about 1" thick. I grilled them for 8 minutes on one side and 5 minutes on the other side. Again the very best pork chops I've had, not dry, juicy and tender with a flavor that made me wish I would never get full or run out of chops!
03/23/2012
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! This was incredibly delicious!! I made it with white rice and asparagus and we dipped everything in the sauce!! I can't wait to make Pork Stir Fry and Fried Rice with the left overs! I would recommend using some sort of grill safe oil on the grates first... Mine got a little stuck at first! I also omitted the cinnamon because of the mixed reviews and I didn't have cloves of garlic so I used garlic powder and it was delicious. I do recommend boiling the marinade and using it as a dipping sauce..... Soooo Yummy!!
11/05/2014
Way too much Worcestershire sauce, the marinade was thin and the family did not like it. I would adjust: 3 Tablespoons of Ketchup and 2 Teaspoons of Worcestershire instead of the other way around.
03/08/2015
Great! My husband and I wanted something different so I gave this recipe a try and it turned out delicious! I used pork chops(bone in) instead of pork loin, no ginger, and I marinated it for 30 minutes.
04/21/2012
I had 12 grilled pork loin chops and my 3 children love it and a big plate is empty!!! will cook them more often
04/25/2012
Wow! That's all I can say....followed recipe to a tee. Only thing different was I was only able to marinate for about 2 hours. I can only imagine if I had for the specified amount of time...wow wow wow! Thank you! You have GOT to try this!
12/30/2012
This recipe is fantastic - everyone loved it. I double or triple the recipe to accomodate more pork chops. Very easy and a great alternative to bottled marinades.
05/16/2012
WOW!!! This marinade is bursting with flavor! I cannot wait to try this on chicken breasts, too! THANK YOU!
02/02/2012
These pork chops were SO good!! I love the marinade!! I wasnt paying attention and missed the part where they needed to marinate for 4+ hours so I was only ended up being marinated for about an hour, but they were still great!! I also ended up sauteeing some mushrooms and onions with the leftover sauce and they tasted great!!
02/05/2012
It is a bit different but more tasty than you might think. We had it with pasta but mashed potatoes would have been better. I found the sauce more than what was needed (I did 4x the recipe for 9 chops).
01/24/2012
Soooo good! I did not have any ginger but it was still really great! Kids loved it! Trying it on ribs and pork tenderloin next. I doubled the sauce, marinated it for a couple hours, then take meat out and grill, boil leftover marinade and use as baste and then as sauce on plate. One of my favorites!
01/30/2012
Loved this! Didnt put in the cinnamon. Cinnamon only belongs in sweets. My opinion. Great flavor and super tender...
08/12/2012
Always a winner (as long as the pork isn't over cooked!). Used thin cut chops the most recent time I made these. Cooked 3 minutes a side in cast iron skillet. (...not a lot of cooking on the grill being done here in the Midwest in the dead of winter. ??)
07/28/2012
Delicious.
05/24/2013
I made this last night with a side salad and pork stuffing. It was delicious. The marinade made the pork taste kind of like pork fried rice. (just the pork part) I made enough for left overs and we're going to try to actually make the pork fried rice tonight. It's definitely worth a try.
03/16/2015
Okay ya'll. These are the real deal. I didn't read the recipe throughly when I found it and didn't realize I needed to marinade for 4-8 hours. So, I took my chances and made it anyway only having two hours before I planned to light the grill. They were delish! I can't even imagine how good these would be if I had let them marinade for the full 4-8 hours it states. I didn't reserve any sauce because I was scared about my lack of time and felt like it would need the full bang. Oh! One more thing - I used Sriracha sauce in lieu of ketchup. Highly recommend that substitute. Pairs perfectly with the sweetness.
05/14/2014
My husband is a porkchop eater... he love them I loved them, this was my second time we had them for dinner and we will have them again.
07/09/2018
it was very good will be making it again I had 3 thick center cut bone in chops so doubled up on the marinade used fresh grated ginger instead of the dry ground ginger (I don't like it except for cookies) also didn't thicken the remaining marinade just heated it up in the microwave till it was hot used like steak sauce sooo good
01/10/2014
This recipe is a KEEPER!! I followed the ingredients to the "T"! The only thing I did different was marinated for only 30 minutes -- I couldn't wait the 4-8 hours. I also "grilled" it on the stove in a grill pan that I have and I'm sure that a George Foreman would work wonderfully! Looking forward to making again and marinating the full time! The chops were tender and juicy!
02/01/2015
This was really good. We followed the recipe almost exactly. I forgot to save some of the marinade to baste with and heat up, but it was still delicious!
03/18/2015
Very tasty! My whole family loved this recipe!
03/13/2015
The whole family loved this but I did make a couple of changes due to dietary restrictions and preferences. I only used about 1/2 of each sweetener (which was plenty), used low sodium soy and Worcestershire, and only used a sprinkle of cinnamon and cayenne. We can't wait to make pork fried rice with the leftovers and try this marinade with other meats ASAP. I doubled the recipe for about 2.5# of meat but wished I would have tripled it and used 1/3 to marinate and 2/3 to reduce as we would have liked a little more sauce. (Incidentally, I don't know why you can't boil the marinade too - wouldn't it kill any lurking bad stuff during the reduction process?)
05/23/2015
One of our favorite ways to do pork chops
03/11/2015
This recipe was okay not too crazy about it. It needed salt which the recipe did not ask and since it has two salty sauces I thought it would not need it, bu it did. We grilled it and though I shook as much off of the marinade once it hit the grill it started to caremelized quickly therefore burning a little after the grill marks on each side I finished it in the oven t prevent it from a complete burn. It was okay.
03/15/2015
As I do with most marinade recipes, I didn't measure anything but just added what I thought was about the right amount (which is usually much more than what is called for). Still, I would double this recipes as I had to recreate it to be able to reduce the left over sauce. Having said all that, I really enjoyed this recipe. Tangy with enough spice to have a bite. Saving this one!
03/08/2015
This was delicious! It was a huge hit. I was a bit skeptical about the amount of Worchestershire sauce in it, but it worked. No flavours were overwhelming. Next time I will decrease the honey and brown sugar (maybe just leave one out) and add ginger.
09/19/2015
These chips were amazingly good! We made the marinade for our thin chops to take with us to bbq at a housewarming party. The sweet, cinnamon-y, tangy flavor of the marinade was surprisingly good! We made these the next night for our whole family too. Definitely saving this one as we eat a ton of pork in our house!
04/14/2015
Very good! My husband liked this more than I did, and he truly enjoyed this recipe! I enjoyed my salad more! I will keep searching for a great grilled pork chop marinade! If I did this one again I would not add the cinnamon!
03/23/2015
I personally was not impressed and found this incredibly sweet. but this is only my opinion
04/02/2015
Loved this & so did the rest of the family. It was easy, yummy & a great dish to prep in the morning & marinate all day. Thanks for posting
10/13/2014
This marinade was so delicious. At first I felt a little daunted because there are a lot more ingredients than i normally put into something (4 at most usually). The prep was easier than i had expected. my chops only marinated for about 3 hours due to time issues but i could tell it was going to be great! i didnt have a grill so i opted to use a medium heat frying pan trying to only flip once. toward the end i put the rest of the marinade in and within minutes it turned into an amazing glaze. i'm sure i'll do this again and maybe try another type of meat like chicken. oh, i found that agave nectar could sub my *blush* solidified honey, it didnt say which brown sugar to use so i did my dark brown one that i already had,and added more minced garlic because i love it. thanks so much for sharing. this is one of my favorites. 8)
02/09/2015
A really complex but delicious flavor for pork chops. I really liked it a lot. Would make it again if it weren't for my picky husband, who didn't care for it. Another reviewer said they tried the marinade on ribs. I think I may be able to talk hubby into giving it another shot with that application.
04/01/2015
This was awesome just as written. It also would make a great base for experimenting with too!
08/26/2018
Followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious and will definitely make again. It makes a beautiful and appetizing presentation with the sauce drizzled over the pork chops. Good enough for any night of the week or for company. I served it with a salad and sweet potato fries.
10/14/2012
Great recipe! I used mine for pork chops which I cooked ahead for sandwiches. I ended up slicing the chops and dunking the slices into the left-over marinade before reheating. Delicious!
05/11/2014
This will now be my go to marinade! The flavors are awesome. The only thing I did different was chop fresh garlic and ginger. I seared chops in iron skillet then finished in 400 oven for 25mins. ( I had 2 inch thick chops) I also let them sit in marinade for 24hrs. Tender, moist chops everyone will love.
07/16/2013
Awesome, even for my picky eater--my husband!!! I didn't add the ginger yet it was still flavourful and juicy and tender. Idid let mine marinate however about 7 hours! This marinate will be a staple in our house!!!
11/29/2017
This was yummy! I'm not an experienced griller so I baked at 350 for 40 minutes, turning and recoating after 20 minutes. Didn't make any other changes. Next time I'll get my husband to grill it since I'm sure it's even better that way!
03/30/2012
We really enjoyed this recipe--will make it again!
07/22/2012
Very delicious! The only changes I made was half-ing the cinnamon (do not completely remove from ingredients, it adds a nice change in flavor) and added a pinch more brown sugar. I would recommend though that when making this recipe that it is better to thicken the basting liquid before glazing the pork on the grill and to double the ingredients. Not only does thickening it make it stick better, but the flavor is a bit more concentrated. Otherwise, this recipe is incredible! I can not wait to make it for my husband the chef! He will definitely be jealous :)
08/14/2012
Wonderful!! My husband and I love these!
04/25/2013
This recipe was very easy and very delicious! I did not add any cayenne pepper b/c I was afraid my toddler wouldn't eat it. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly, and my husband LOVED it, as did I....even my picky 15 month old inhaled the pork (she never touches meat!) I served it with brown rice and broccoli...the marinade goes well just to mix into the rice and veggies too! I think I let it marinate for about 5 hours...Thanks for the recipe!
05/01/2014
This recipe made the best pork chops I have ever had. The best thing is the ingredients are easy and I had everything I needed in my fridge and cabinet! My husband LOVES it. I use thin cut pork chops (I personally don't like thick cut), and they still turned out amazing.
09/16/2012
delicious
04/30/2014
Very good went well with some roasted red potato's . I went by the recipe...Delicious!
04/27/2014
Used this on a pork loin....tender and juicy
10/09/2017
We thought this was awesome. My kids and boyfriend rated it an 8 or 8.5. My pork chops were thicker but I didn't want to over cook and the timing was great. I doubled+ the recipe and marinaded 9 chops and cooked 7 and I'm saving 2 to cook tomorrow. I added tons more garlic and winged it on the other amounts of the ingredients to make sure it was enough. But I liked it all. I marinaded for about 3.5 to 4 hours. I didn't split the sauce and then cooked or boiled the sauce for a while on the stove. I poured it over the pork. It was great.
03/08/2012
This was excellent. I don't really care for ginger so I omitted and I didn't have any onion powder so I used 1/3 cup of chopped onion. My husband and I just loved the flavor.
01/10/2020
Pork loin, the other lean white meat, is a great value for the $$ but usually comes off the grill a bit dry. This recipe helps it stay moist although hubs says watch it because the sugar wants to crisp up. The flavor was excellent. No heat with the combination of flavors so don't skimp on the cayenne. The sauce thickened fast and tasted great as almost a dipping sauce. We will definitely use this recipe again
07/20/2019
I dialed it back on the Worcestershire sauce and added some squeezed lime and rice vinegar to cut out the harshness of the taste. It did the job perfectly!!
